A fine technical piece of film-making using green screen special effects. We liked the inclusion of a clip to show that the children were involved – and taking charge – during the filming. Your idea of using special effects to encourage and challenge the children to produce detailed creative writing is inspired and the quality of the script was excellent. Highly commended.

An e-safety movie with its own catch phrase (“innit?”). You got the message over in an entertaining way by casting the internet bad guys as a family of punks. Good sets and some detailed models.

We hope that nobody does get blasted by guns if they arrange to meet someone on Facebook but it is a good excuse to use some well-placed special effects! Well-recorded voiceovers on both animations.

Mr Happy makes you feel happy! We enjoyed this animation with its’ simple idea, simple models and simple set – simple works well. This has a genuine sense of a personal project. The happy soundtrack worked well and helped make this a ’feel good’ animation.

Review
A good idea to re-tell the Boy Who Cried Wolf story. Try adding a close-up when a model is speaking so the viewer can see more detail. A variety of shots is a good idea. This animation had good structure and we could follow the story well.

Review
Another animation with a clear structure which meant we could follow the story. All in one shot, some camera movement which made the animation look ‘jumpy’ – try taping the camera to the desk. A good range of sets.

Review
We liked the model of Mr.Tickle and we thought that those long arms were ideal for trying out lots of animated moves. Not much happened in this story-wise but you gave yourselves lots of opportunities to practice your animation skills with Mr.Tickle.

Review
This animation had a clear structure and  good variety of scenes. The animation was a bit jumpy at times, try smaller moves between shots to make things look smoother. We liked the use of a bauble as a mirror ball for the dance scene.

Review
It was not so clear what was going on in this animation, but it looks like you had fun making it. You clearly enjoyed animating the shooting scenes and you did well with editing in the explosions!

Review

Simple message and simple models but they work well for this animation and help to get the message across. Good voiceovers and we like the bit when the blue model turns to green. Simple and effective.

Review

Great sets with scene changes and carefully made models. The animators could have used some close-up shots to add variety. The models would have looked good in close-up.

Review

Clear voiceovers which were performed well. The models were well-made, you could have shot some effective close-ups of these models when they were speaking to add a bit of variety on-screen. We would have liked to have seen a spell which stopped that pesky cat sleeping on the Witch’s bed!

Review

A nice basic animation which started well and finished a bit quickly at the end. You could have refined the story a bit more. Watch out for hands in the animation! A good first animation though.

Review

The models were quite small in this animation, they could have been bigger to show the detail on the faces. This animation would have benefited from some close-up shots to show which character was speaking.

Review

Simple models, you could have developed these a bit more making them bigger – with a bigger spaceship perhaps? You had the basis of a good idea here with an alien abduction, could you think of adding a twist to the tale (e.g. the abducted character returns as an alien?). However, well-shot you filled the screen well and it was easy to see the characters clearly.

This film showed an informed awareness of how news is structured and presented. Very well scripted, we thought the interviewer was excellent. The use of different locations added interest for the viewer and framing of the shots was very good.

Review
The film makers understood the conventions of cookery programmes. Lively presenters with good titles and choice of music. At times we saw director’s notes and heard some prompting. If you can, it’s always worth filming scenes like this again to get the best results. However, we enjoyed this film very much.
